Welcome

An island resort on North

Dhigali Maldives sits in the North Atoll, roughly 156 km from Malé, and runs close to 180 villas spread across beachfront and overwater categories. The scale means genuine variety: a 70 m² bungalow for two, a 400 m² two-bedroom suite with a private infinity pool and butler, and a dozen room types between them. Five restaurants cover everything from an all-day buffet to à la carte Asian fusion and a jungle-set Indian and North African kitchen. A Euro-Divers PADI centre, a water sports hub, and the Dhigali Spa round out the on-island facilities. The resort is rebranding as Niva Dhigali under a premium all-inclusive model.

Who this stay suits

A large, well-equipped island resort with strong dining variety, a house reef off the water villas, and easy access to manta ray sites in Raa Atoll.

Best for

  • Divers targeting Raa Atoll manta rays
  • Couples wanting overwater villa access to a house reef
  • Families needing multi-bedroom layouts and a certified kids club
  • Guests who want multiple restaurant options without leaving the island

Less suited to

  • Travellers seeking an intimate, small-scale property
  • Those on a tight budget — rates start around USD 562 per night

Five restaurants, distinct menus

Capers runs the main buffet with themed dinner nights. Jade does à la carte Asian fusion at dinner. Faru covers Mediterranean grills at lunch and dinner. Battuta serves Indian, Sri Lankan, and North African food in a jungle setting. The Café is open all day for coffee and snacks.

House reef and water sports

The house reef runs directly off the Water Villas. The Splash Water Sports Centre covers windsurfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, jet ski, banana boat, kayaks, and SUPs. Snorkelling trips are also arranged from here.

Euro-Divers PADI dive centre

A 5-star PADI operation on the north side of the island. Raa Atoll sees manta rays year-round, putting this resort among the more practical bases for consistent manta encounters in the Maldives.

Dhigali Spa — 12 treatment rooms

The spa has 12 treatment rooms, an outdoor plunge pool, a steam room, reflexology room, and a meditation and yoga pavilion. It runs 9:00 to 18:00. All room categories come stocked with L'Occitane toiletries.

Room scale and design range

The smallest Beach Bungalow is 70 m². At the top, the Two-Bedroom Dhigali Suite reaches 400 m² with a private bar, home theatre, infinity pool, and butler service. Lagoon Villas with Pool sit overwater with direct lagoon access.

Evening and poolside activity

Haali Bar is the island's sunset bar. The East pool bar runs daytime fitness sessions and becomes the nightly live entertainment hub. Themed dinner nights at Capers and a Pizzeria between the bar and Faru fill out the evening options.
